I took a drive down the coast to visit artist Denja Harris in her San Diego, CA studio. Denja creates experimental fiber art and soft sculptures that caught my attention and I wanted to see her working process. She sources second-hand and dead-stock yarn, and creates layered, free form abstract works that take shape in a super organic process. She says her art practice is a form of healing and exploring self-identity, vulnerability, and softness through the relationships of color, pattern and texture.
