I went to Portugal with the intention to make some pictures that were fully my own, and to try out a new way of approaching projects. I wanted to see if I could seamlessly combine a loose, lightly-produced framework that was put together before I left, with the full presence of being in the moment and responding to what happened in real time. I had a team of one with me, helping to coordinate with locations and talent as we went, while I was allowed to capture what felt most alive. The aim was to see a new place, meet new people, and create work that felt aligned with the experience I was having, and expressed the feeling of it all. It was beautiful.
